The Fossil Explosion

The creation/evolution debate concentrates on the controversial question:
How did we all get here?  If you're a creationist, chances are you believe
what God told us in His book, the Bible - that He created everything by His
Word (Jesus Christ).  If you're an evolutionist, chances are you believe what
Charles Darwin told us in his book
Origin of Species - that everything
evolved from a simple cell.

Darwin based his theory on observations he made in the natural world.  He
believed that archeology and paleontology, then in their infancy, would
eventually prove or disprove his theory.  He reasoned that the discovery of
many "intermediate fossils" would reveal the numerous transitions it would
take to go from a single cell to the complex life forms we see today.  It should
also be noted that these intermediary fossils should be present for ALL
forms of life - not just the human race.

It has been well over 100 years since Darwin wrote his infamous book.  So
what does the fossil record reveal?  Sorry, Mr. Darwin, you were wrong!
Below, Illustration A represents Darwin's Tree of Life where everything
develops from a single cell.  According to Darwin (and evolution) this Tree is
what the fossil record should look like.
The branches in A are critical to the theory of evolution.  The theory falls
apart without them.  It is also important to understand that the "transitional
forms" the evolutionists claim exist are based on wild assumptions, and in
some cases, outright hoaxes.  They are not above taking a toe bone
found ten miles from the remains of an ape-like creature and saying it
belonged to that creature, concluding that they found an ape that walked
upright - like humans.  The museum fossil draws have been filled to
overflowing by the now well-developed fields of archeology and
paleontology.

So what does the fossil record reveal?  Illustration B represents the actual
fossil record.  As you can see, there is an explosion of complex life at the
beginning of the level called the Cambrian Period.  It is lovingly referred to
as "Biology's Big Bang".  Creationists believe that this is where the Flood
occurred, and when the earth was repopulated after the Flood.  The few
types of life that existed prior to this point are all "aquatic", which means
they would have been able to survive through the Flood.  These few
exceptions never morphed (or changed) into anything other than the
simple aquatic fossils recorded.  As you can see, with the exception of
extinction, every kind continues on in the form it first appeared.  Branches
do not exist in the actual fossil record.  There are mutations within
species.  However, we have yet to find a mutation that increases
information; therefore, mutations cannot create branches of their own and
are usually not beneficial to the kind.  Imagine a mother in a maternity
ward who has just been told her child has a mutation.  Would she be
jumping for joy or crying her eyes out?  Over 100 years of innumerable
fossil finds actually support the sudden explosion of life we would expect
to see after the destruction caused by a worldwide flood and its
subsequent repopulation, as recorded in Genesis.
